In Pladia, a Venue serves as the central hub for your instance, while Spaces function as smaller hubs that showcase the works in your collection. Spaces can be likened to content zones within your Venue that house Objects. These Spaces can take the form of rooms, exhibits, or groupings of objects that you want to curate together within your institution.

When setting up your Pladia instance, you can utilize Spaces to specify where specific Objects are exhibited. Once you have established the foundational elements in the system such as Venues, Buildings, Levels, and Spaces, you can digitally position the Objects from your collection into designated Spaces to create Curated Experiences in Empower PWA.

If you are setting up your Venue using an IMDF file, there is no requirement to manually create Spaces within the platform. In this scenario, you can proceed directly to configuring Objects to seamlessly progress with your setup process.

Steps to create Spaces in the Pladia Console

  1. Select Spaces from the left navigation in the Console.

  2. Select the Building you would like to create a Space within from the drop-down menu, adjust to the right Level, then select Create Custom Space at the bottom of the Spaces Setup list.

  3. Select Edit Space Boundary to create an outline of the Space.

    1. Use your mouse to draw boundary lines that reflect the footprint of the Space.

    2. Click to create a corner, press Enter to finish.

    3. Click and drag your corners and midpoints to reposition or resize.

  4. Add your Space Name and Space Alternate Name on the right-hand side of the screen.

  5. Once you are satisfied with your Space, select Save New.

  6. Repeat this process until you have created all Spaces within a particular Venue.

  7. To put a Space on display, select select Publish.

    1. To note: You will still need to Release your public bundle your changes in the Releases screen to make it visible to your visitors.

  8. To edit a Space, select the Space you wish to edit, and then execute all changes within the text box on the right of your screen.

  9. To delete a Space, click the three dots to the right of your Space, and select Delete.

Congratulations! You have successfully added Spaces to the Console. Please feel free to reach out to Customer Success if you have further questions.
