Setup instructions for Venues in Pladia Empower

In Pladia, we consider a Venue to be the central hub, akin to a 'home base'. Your Venue serves as the primary spatial boundary for your Pladia environment, encompassing all Buildings, Levels, Spaces, Objects, and experiences within your institution.

Setting up the Pladia Console begins with establishing your Venue. While some accounts may have multiple Venues, most operators typically have just one. If you need assistance with creating your Venue, please feel free to contact the Customer Success team for guidance.

If you are using an IMDF file (Indoor Mapping Data Format) for setup, there is no need to manually create a Venue in the platform. In this case, you can proceed directly to setting up your Space and Object content to continue with your setup process.

Steps to create a Venue in the Pladia Console

  1. Select Venues from the left navigation in the Console.

  2. Select the three dots within the Venue Setup list to access the context menu.

  3. Select whether the Venue is being created manually or using an IMDF upload.

    1. If NOT using an IMDF upload, select Create Venue to proceed to the next step.

  4. Add your Venue Name and Venue Address on the right-hand side of the screen.

    1. Reposition your Venue Marker only if it is improperly placed.

  5. Select Add Venue Boundary to create an outline of your institution.

    1. Use your mouse to draw boundary lines that reflect the footprint of your Venue.

    2. Click to create a corner, press Enter to finish.

    3. Click and drag your corners and midpoints to reposition or resize.

      • Tip: The boundary doesn't need to be exact. Just make sure it fully encompasses your entire venue—even if it slightly overlaps with areas outside your venue, that’s perfectly fine.

    1. Once you are satisfied with the boundary lines drawn, press Enter.

  6. Once finished, select Save New.

  7. To put a Venue on display, select Put on Display.

    1. To note: You will still need to publish your Venue to make it visible to your visitors.

  8. To edit a Venue, click the Venue you wish to edit, then execute all changes in the text box on the right of your screen.

  9. To delete a Venue, click the three dots to the right of your Venue text box, and select Delete.
