Using Manual mode

Manual mode is straightforward to operate and is best suited for events where precise synchronization between audio and visual elements is not required.

Configure audio for Manual Mode in the Console

  1. Select Manual as your sync method.
    ​

  2. Upload your audio files to the Event Sync Console.


Trigger audio in the Desktop App

Since Manual Mode does not use a synchronization protocol, playback depends on manually starting audio tracks to align with your visual presentation. This provides flexibility and direct control over the audio content.

  1. Start the Desktop App
    Log in using the credentials provided by Pladia.
    Manual mode requires no special hardware or setup. Simply ensure that a team member is available to manage audio playback using the Desktop App.

  2. Check your Connection status indicators
    The Connection status indicators on the Desktop App display the health of the three components required for Event Sync to operate correctly: all need to show green ticks for your event to work. Click here for troubleshooting guidelines.

  3. Select your Preview or Live environment

  4. Select the relevant playlist
    You will see the sync method and number of tracks listed under the playlist title. To make any changes, return to your Event Sync Console and re-publish.

  5. Activate your sync status
    When synchronization is Active, users see the Start listening button on the PWA Landing page. Once they select this, they will see a Listening page. Once audio is triggered, they can click play to listen. Read more about managing your sync status.

  6. Control playback
    Choose the appropriate audio track from the Select a track dropdown menu. Changing the selection during playback will interrupt the current track.

    1. Play: Begin audio playback manually.

    2. Start at 00:00: Use this to manually offset the audio playback by entering the timecode to start the audio track.

    3. Triggered and playing audio will be listed on the right-hand side of the Desktop App, creating an event log for visibility.

  7. Complete the show
    Once your show is complete, return the status to Inactive. This directs users back to the Landing screen and prevents further audio triggers.
