In Pladia, Content Blocks enable Console operators to uniquely tailor the visitor experience within the PWA. Content Blocks enable the customization of written text, images, and button links within the visitor application, enhancing engagement and providing a more immersive experience with your collection. By thoughtfully designing your Content Blocks, you can create a more engaging and memorable experience for your visitors, guiding them through your exhibits in a way that captures their interest and enriches their understanding.

Content Blocks are accessible in multiple sections of the Console, including Objects, Spaces, and Points of Interest. In this article, we will walk you through how to add Content Blocks to the Console, elevating your visitors' experience to new heights. We will use an Object in the example shown here, but the functionality will remain consistent for all the attributes mentioned.

To note: Content Blocks will not be available for your visitors until the associated attribute (Object, Space, or Point of Interest) has been put On Display and Published Publicly.

Steps to Set Content Blocks in the Console

  1. To begin this process for an Object, select Objects from the left navigation in the Console.

  2. Select the Object from the object list shown.

    1. If you have not yet created the Object, please create it first by following these instructions.

  3. Select the Content tab.

  4. Click on the plus (+) sign to reveal the content options.

    1. You can add Text, an Image, a Button, or all three.

  5. To add text, select the Text option to the left of the content block.

    1. Begin typing in the text block as shown.

      Recommendation:

      • Consider using engaging and descriptive language that tells a story or provides a deeper context to the object or exhibit it is on display with.

      • Use formatting options like bold or italic text to highlight key points or quotes for better emphasis.

      • You can also use subscript or superscript text to denote important terms or references, making them stand out.

  6. If you are done adding content, select Save Draft Changes in the bottom right corner.

  7. To add another content block, select the plus sign (+) below or above the newly created text block.

    1. If you choose the content block above the initial text entry, the next block will appear at the top of the content section in the PWA.

    2. If you choose the content below above the initial text entry, the next block will appear at the bottom of the content section in the PWA.

  8. Select a second content option from the left side of your screen.

  9. For this example, I'll choose an image block.

  10. Select Add Image to drop an image or upload one from your computer.

  11. Once an image has been selected, click Select to upload it.

    1. This will complete the upload process and return you to the Content tab.

  12. Set the image display ratio to the left of the content block.

    1. None (Style inherited)

    2. Cropped to fill (4:3 frame)

    3. Image fits frame (uncropped)

  13. You may now add an Image caption in the content box if desired.

    1. The appropriate field will appear below the newly uploaded image.

      Recommendation:

      • Ensure that your images are high quality and relevant to the content.

      • Adding informative or evocative captions can enhance visitor engagement.

  14. If you are done adding content, select Save Draft Changes in the bottom right corner.

  15. To add another content block, select the plus sign (+) below or above any of the current content entries.

  16. For this example, I'll choose a button block below my current text entry.

  17. To the left of the content block, add the URL you wish to link to.

    1. To note: Please be aware that you won't have access to 'external links on Native' due to the unavailability of Empower Native.

      1. If you have an interest in Empower Native moving forward, please reach out to Customer Success.

    2. Add appropriate text to the button block as shown.

      Recommendation:

      • Consider linking to additional resources or related exhibits that extend the visitor's journey.

        • If available, include interactive elements to further engage visitors.

      • Make your button text clear and compelling, encouraging visitors to explore further.

  18. If you are done adding content, select Save Draft Changes in the bottom right corner.

  19. To delete a content block, click on the specific block, then select the Trashcan Icon.

  20. To update a text block, click on it, then begin editing the text as needed. Select

Save Craft Changes or Done once finished.

  21. To update an image or button block, click on it, then begin editing on the left side of the screen as needed. Select Save Craft Changes or Done once finished.

As a reminder: You can add Content Blocks to Objects, Spaces, and Points of Interest. Content Blocks will not be available for your visitors until the associated attribute (Object, Space, or Point of Interest) has been put On Display and Published Publicly.
