Overview
Events are a powerful way to bring your Venue to life, turning static spaces into dynamic, time-based experiences for your visitors.
Create Your Event
Navigate to Events in the Console and select Create New Event.
Enter the Basics about your Event.
Select the Admission type for this event.
This is a visual indicator and filtering tool for visitors. They will see the relevant icon on Event cards, and be able to filter the map/list view by the Admission type.
[Optional] Check the box to include a link to an external ticketing platform. Empower does not process payments, ticket purchases, or membership sign-ups. Use the CTA button to link to an external platform, a ticketing page, booking form, or membership portal.
Set the Date & Time of your Event.
[Optional] Use the Date description field to override the displayed date with a plain-language label for better context. Use cases include "School Holidays", "Mother's Day", "Pride Week", etc.
Select if your Event is a single event or repeating event. A recurring event is one record, past sessions are automatically hidden from all views except search, where they are labelled "Past Event." An Event Detail page will remain active until you un-release it.
Add your Event content by selecting Manage Content. This opens the editor where you can add text, images, buttons, and video blocks.
To add a speaker or performer, select Add Attribution and choose from the existing list.
On the PWA, attaching an attribution to an Event pulls through that person or organization's profile details into the Events Details tab. This is useful for any programming where the presenter or facilitator is a key attraction, such as a curator-led tour, a guest lecture, a daily talk.
To categorize your Event by theme, select Add Tag.
Set the Location for your Event.
You can attach your Event to a Space, position it on the map, or specify an outdoor address
Click into Additional details to set the Location description or specify an outdoor address.
Link any Related Content to your Event.
Your Event can be linked with other Empower records (Spaces, Objects, Tours, POIs, Events) for contextual connections, not just where an event takes place. Relationships are bidirectional: if an event is related to a Space or Object, it surfaces on both pages.
Add an Event Summary to show on the PWA Home screen when this Event is featured.
Confirm Your Changes
After you've created or edited your Event, complete the release process to make the content visible to visitors.
Publish your Tour (select Publish) in the Console to make it ready to release.
Release to Public from the Releases page in the Console.
You're all set! Contact Customer Success if you have any further questions.
