Overview

Spaces function as smaller hubs within your Venue that showcase curated works in your collection. These key content zones allow you to display either Objects or rich media content about the Space itself. Spaces can represent rooms, exhibits, or even outdoor areas.

Spaces serve two main purposes:

  • Spaces with Objects: These showcase curated Objects and allow you to digitally position them within the Space, mirroring your physical layout. This enables Curated Experiences in your Empower PWA. The "In this Space" section will display in the PWA when Objects are linked to the same space.

  • Stand-Alone Spaces: Use rich media (Images, Audio, buttons for URLs, rich text) to describe the Space itself, without requiring Objects to be placed inside. Spaces without Objects will still display in your PWA if they have enriched content.

Tip: Stand-Alone Spaces are a great way to start using Pladia quickly and can be expanded with Objects later on.

Display Requirements

For a Space to be visible in your PWA, it must be Published and meet one of the following requirements:

  • Have enriched content added to the space itself.

  • OR, Have Objects associated with it.

Create a Space (Details and Placement)

Spaces can only be added after you have setup your Venues, Buildings, and Levels.

  1. Navigate to Spaces from the left navigation in the Console.

  2. Select Create Space in the upper right corner of the Spaces screen.

  3. Add basic details: Space Name, Display Name (what visitors see), Short description, Image, and Audio.

  4. Add a Hero Image and Audio to the Space using the plus sign (+).

  5. Select Save New.

  6. Navigate to the Manage Space Boundary tab. Select Draw Space Boundary to begin outlining the Space.

  7. Use your mouse to draw the boundary lines that reflect the footprint of the Space

  8. Click to create a corner, and press Enter to finish the drawing.

  9. Click and drag corners and midpoints to reposition or resize the boundary.

  10. Once you're happy, select Save.

Tip: Using descriptive names that will make sense to other operators managing the Console.

Add Content Blocks To Spaces

  1. Navigate to the Content tab.

  2. Click on the plus (+) sign to reveal content options.

  3. Add Text, an Image, a Button, or all three.

  4. Once your content is setup, select Save.

Manage and Delete Spaces

  1. To edit a Space, click the Space you wish to edit, then complete all changes within the text box on the right of your screen.

  2. To delete a Space, click on the item in the Spaces Setup list, then click the three dots in the pop-up box on the right-hand side of the page and select Delete.

Note: If you are setting up your Venue using an IMDF file, you do not need to manually create Spaces. You can skip the building, level and space creation steps. Spaces created via IMDF cannot have their boundaries changed.

Confirm Your Changes

After you've added or edited your Spaces, complete the release process to make the content visible to visitors.

  1. Publish your Space (select Publish) in the Console to make it ready to release.

  2. Release to Public from the Releases page in the Console.
