Overview
The Tours feature enables you to create interactive, step-by-step journeys for your visitors within your Venue. The easy authoring process automatically builds a map for the journey as you add stops and location pins, ensuring your visitors always know where to go next.
To make the experience more engaging and inclusive we recommend audio for each stop, creating a narrated tour of your collection.
β
You can promote discovery by featuring Tours on your PWA landing page. Your Tour Stops can be created using existing Objects or Spaces, or you can create entirely new items specific to that journey.
Create a Tour
Navigate to Tours.
βSelect Create Tour.
βEnter a Tour Name. This is a required field and is the public-facing name visitors will see in the PWA.
βAdd your tour content by selecting Manage Content. This opens the editor where you can add text, images, buttons, and video blocks.
βTo show a numbered map of your stops in the PWA, ensure the map section is enabled. If you prefer a list-only view, select Hide map section.
βOnce you're happy with your changes, select Save.
Note: You can now accept payment for Tours using a Stripe account. For more information on setting up paid tours, please refer to our guide on Stripe integration.
Add Tour Stops
Tour Stops can reference existing Objects, and Spaces or be new items.
Click Add Stop.
βSelect which type of Stop you will make. Stops that reference an existing Space or Object will inherit the Content from that item.
βA Stop Details panel will open on the right-hand side. If your stop references an Object or Space, you will see the inherited content here. Edit this or add new content.
βYou can override the inherited content in the Tour without impacting how that Object or Space shows in the rest of the PWA.
βSet a Location for your Tour Stop (optional). Placing a location pin ensures the stop appears on the autogenerated map.
βThe location will be inherited if referencing an existing Space or Object which you can Remove, or Edit.
βReview your Stop list, selecting the drag bar to rearrange their order.
Linking to and from Tour Stops:
Visitors can click through from tour stops to the linked Object or Space for a deeper dive into the content.
Any Object or Space included in a Tour will show a Featured In section that links to that Tour.
Feature Your Tour
To feature your Tour on the PWA Landing screen:
In the Tour Details screen, add a Tour Summary to show on the PWA Landing screen.
βNavigate to App Settings in your Console and open the Featured Tours tab.
βAdd your Tour(s) and drag the items to rearrange their order.
Confirm Your Changes
After you've created or edited your Tour, complete the release process to make the content visible to visitors.
Publish your Tour (select Publish) in the Console to make it ready to release.
Release to Public from the Releases page in the Console.
