If you need to remove content from the public-facing app, you can unpublish it by reverting it to a draft. This action hides the item from the PWA after a Public release.
This article walks you through how to revert an item to draft and release those changes.
🔔 Note: Reverting an item to draft won’t take effect immediately. Like all changes, it must be included in a Public release before it’s removed from the app.
Steps to Unpublish Content
Open the item in the Console
Navigate to the Published item you want to unpublish.
Click the “Revert to draft” button
This will change the item’s status to draft-sync, indicating it's no longer intended for public display and is pending release.
Go to the Releases page
From the left-hand navigation, click Releases.
Review the item in the list
You’ll see the item listed with the status draft-sync. This status shows that the item has been reverted to draft but hasn’t yet been included in a Public release.
Click “Release Changes”
This reveals the release options. Click “Release to Public” and a confirmation prompt will appear.
(Optional) Add release notes
Use the free text field to note your initials, the date, or a brief explanation of what was unpublished.
Confirm the release
Click the green “Release to Public” button.This finalizes the change and removes the item from the public app.
You’ll see a confirmation in the bottom-left corner once the release is complete.
Item status after the release
After the release, the item’s status in the Console will update to Draft, and it will no longer appear in the public-facing PWA.
✅ That’s it!
You’ve successfully unpublished content from the public app. The item has been reverted to draft and is no longer visible to visitors.
