Overview

Tags are flexible, customizable labels that help your team organize Objects in the Empower Console. They connect and categorize objects across your Venue and are presented to visitors as Themes in the PWA.

Themes help you revitalize existing collections, highlight unique aspects of your collections, and guide visitors through Thematic Journeys. You can feature up to 6 Themes on the PWA landing page in App Settings.

  • Explore by Theme: Visitors can view all Objects connected to a tag/theme on its own thematic map.

  • Navigation Enhancement: Tags/Themes guide visitors through collections, creating opportunities for discovery.

Tip: You need to position your Objects to see them on a theme map

Add Tags to Objects

You can add tags when creating new Objects or by tagging existing Objects.

  • Navigate to Objects from the left navigation in the Console.

  • Select an Object from the list.

  • On the object details page, scroll down to the Tags section.

  • Click Add Tag to open the tagging options.

  • Enter the tag name in the search box. The system will check if the tag already exists.

  • Select or Create a Tag:

    • If the tag appears in search results, click it to select.

    • If it doesn’t exist, click Create Tag below your entry to add a new one.

Tip: The capitalization you use when creating a tag will be how the tag appears to visitors in the PWA.

Manage Tags On Objects

  1. To edit a Tag: Open an Object, click on the tag, complete your changes, and select Save.

  2. To remove a Tag: Open an Object, click the X next to the tag and confirm the deletion, then select Save.

  3. To review all Objects associated with a tag, search for a specific tag on the Objects page.

Enhance or Hide Tags/Themes

  1. You can add a description and image to your tags by clicking on a tag on the Object detail page, or via the Tag Manager. The description and image you add will appear in the PWA on the Theme detail page.

  2. You can also set the tag to hidden by clicking on a tag on the Object detail page, or via the Tag Manager.

Tip: Hidden tags can be used to categorize content in the Console without being displayed to visitors. Tags are currently available only on Objects.

Confirm Your Changes

After you've added, edited, or removed Tags, complete the release process to make the content visible to visitors.

  1. Publish your Object (select Publish) in the Console to make it ready to release.

  2. Release to Public from the Releases page in the Console.
