This article provides an in-depth look at the Enriched POIs (Points of Interest) tab within the Empower Analytics Dashboard. For a more general overview without detailed information, please visit the Empower Analytics Dashboard Overview.

The Enriched POIs tab offers metrics that explore visitor interactions, including views and media engagements. Each metric is accompanied by definitions, context, examples, and insights to help you understand how Enriched POIs impact visitor behavior and guide decision-making. This tab of the dashboard highlights the most and least popular POIs, how visitors access them, and what they search for within your Empower PWA.

Reminder: Each of the metrics available on the Points of Interest tab can be filtered by Date range with the default set to Last 7 days, Venue, Building, and Level.

Metrics Available

Total Enriched POI Views

  • Definition: The total number of times all Enriched POI detail pages were viewed within the PWA, including repeated views by the same user.

  • Context: This metric is represented as a single number, giving insight into how frequently visitors engage with all Enriched POI detail pages, even when the same POI is viewed multiple times by the same visitor. It provides a comprehensive view of overall engagement with your enriched points of interest across the venue.

  • Example: If Visitor 1 views Enriched POI A four times, POI B three times, and POI C twice, while Visitor 2 views POI A once, POI B twice, and does not view POI C, the total Enriched POI Views would be calculated by adding all views together: (4 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 2), resulting in a total of 12 views.

  • How it is Useful: This metric offers a cumulative total of all Enriched POI views, providing a high-level snapshot of visitor interest in your venue ammenities. While it doesn’t distinguish which individual POIs are most popular, a higher total could indicate increased engagement with enriched content, prompting further analysis of specific POIs or detailed metrics. This information can help operators optimize signage, adjust marketing strategies, or enhance the content associated with specific POIs to boost visitor interaction.

Total Estimated Unique Users

  • Definition: The estimated total number of unique visitors who viewed any Enriched POI detail page in the PWA, based on the filters applied in the dashboard. Repeated views by the same user across different Enriched POIs are counted as one unique user.

  • Context: This metric reflects the number of distinct visitors engaging with Enriched POI detail pages within the PWA during the selected date range and according to the filters set by the operator. Unlike Total Enriched POI Views, which counts every interaction, this metric focuses solely on unique users, providing insights into the breadth of visitor engagement across all Enriched POIs.

  • Example: If User A views 4 different Enriched POIs and User B views 3 of the same Enriched POIs multiple times within the filtered time period, the Total Estimated Unique Users metric will count them as 2 unique users, despite multiple views of the same or different Enriched POIs.

  • How it is Useful: This metric helps measure the reach of visitor engagement with Enriched POIs by focusing on unique visitors. It offers insights into how many distinct visitors are interacting with enriched content, which can help operators understand audience behavior and guide decisions on enhancing content, signage, or marketing efforts related to specific points of interest. Additionally, this data can inform targeted campaigns or content updates, ensuring that the venue’s offerings align with the engagement patterns of unique visitors.

Daily Enriched POI Views

  • Definition: A line chart displaying the total number of Enriched POI views per day, with daily data points plotted to help identify trends in visitor engagement. This metric includes all views, meaning if the same visitor accesses the same Enriched POI multiple times, each view is counted.

  • Context: This metric visually tracks how often Enriched POI detail pages are viewed on a daily basis, providing insights into daily fluctuations in visitor interaction with all of your Enriched POIs. Repeated views from the same visitor are included, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of engagement levels.

  • Example: Each day's total views are calculated based on visitor activity. For instance, on Monday, 150 visitors accessed Enriched POI pages, with 30 revisiting the same points later in the day, resulting in a total of 180 views. With each day's total represented as a data point on the line chart, the chart might display 180 views for Monday, 120 for Tuesday, 140 for Wednesday, 90 for Thursday, and 200 for Friday. This allows operators to analyze engagement patterns, noting peaks like Friday and dips such as Thursday throughout the week.

  • How it is Useful: This metric offers an overview of visitor engagement with Enriched POIs on a daily basis. While it doesn’t indicate individual Enriched POI performance, it helps identify patterns in overall visitor activity, such as spikes in engagement on specific days. Operators can correlate these patterns with events, promotions, or particular days of the week, providing insights into broader engagement trends across the venue’s enriched offerings.

Enriched POI Views by Source

  • Definition: A pie chart that provides a detailed breakdown of how visitors accessed Enriched POI detail pages within the app. The chart displays the total number of views among all sources, and users can hover over individual slices to see the exact number of times each Enriched POI was viewed using each source. The sources are categorized as follows:

    • Search: When a visitor uses the search function to locate an Enriched POI.

    • Scan: When a visitor scans a QR code or NFC tag to access an Enriched POI.

    • Landing Map: When a visitor accesses an Enriched POI from the landing map.

    • Space List: When a visitor accesses an Enriched POI from the list of Spaces.

    • Direct: When the Enriched POI page is accessed directly after onboarding, indicating the visitor entered the URL for the POI itself.

    • Other: Includes any views not fitting the above categories, such hitting back and revisiting an Enriched POI after navigating to the MyVisit page.

  • Context: This metric highlights how visitors are navigating to Enriched POIs, showing which entry points are most popular for accessing content related to all Enriched POIs in your venue.

  • Example: Suppose your Enriched POIs have a total of 150 views. Of those, 40% come from visitors scanning QR codes, 35% from searching for the Enriched POI within the app, and 25% from accessing it through the landing map or Space list. The pie chart breakdown shows the largest slice as Scans, the second largest as Search, and the third slice representing Views from Landing Map or Space List. This visualization helps demonstrate how visitors interact with your Enriched POIs, with Scans being the most common method, followed by Searches.

  • How it is Useful: This metric helps institution operators understand how visitors prefer to access Enriched POIs. If most views come from Scans, operators might want to ensure that QR codes are placed prominently throughout the venue. If Searches are frequently utilized, it may indicate a need for keyword-rich tagging. By identifying these trends, operators can gain insights into visitor behavior and engagement patterns, ultimately guiding decisions to enhance accessibility and interaction with Enriched POIs.

Enriched POI Views by Name

  • Definition: A ranked table displaying the popularity of Enriched POIs based on total and unique views, as well as how visitors accessed each Enriched POI. The table includes sortable columns for Total Views, Unique Views, and view sources such as Search, Scan (QR, NFC), Landing Map/Space List, and Other. Each metric and view source is detailed in the sections above.

  • Context: This metric provides a detailed view of Enriched POI popularity and visitor access patterns. Each row in the table represents a specific Enriched POI, with sortable columns displaying total views, unique views, and how visitors accessed each Enriched POI. By sorting the table, operators can easily analyze trends and identify how visitors are discovering and interacting with various Enriched POIs. Note that only six Enriched POIs are shown at a time; use the arrow buttons to view additional entries.

  • Example: The table is ranked by total views by default. For instance, Enriched POI A might be ranked first with 500 total views and 350 unique views, including 200 views from scans, 150 from searches, and 150 from the landing map. Enriched POI B, ranked second, could have 400 total views and 380 unique views, with the majority of views coming from scans and searches. While Enriched POI A has more total views, sorting the table by unique views would move Enriched POI B to the top, as it has a higher number of unique visitors. This allows operators to identify not just the most-viewed Enriched POIs but also those with more unique visitors.

  • How it is Useful: This metric helps identify which Enriched POIs are the most popular and how visitors are discovering them. By analyzing the breakdown of views by source, operators can understand which discovery methods are most effective. For example, a high number of views from scans may suggest that QR codes are effective, while a significant number of search-based views may indicate well-optimized tagging. This data can guide decisions on signage placement, event planning, or the organization of Enriched POIs within the PWA.

Enriched POI Location Map Views

  • Definition: A pie chart that displays how many times visitors viewed the location of an Enriched POI on the map, broken down by Enriched POI name. The center of the pie chart shows the total number of location views for all Enriched POIs combined. Users can hover over individual slices to see the exact number of times each Enriched POI was viewed on the map.

  • Context: This metric helps identify which Enriched POIs visitors are most interested in locating within the venue. Each slice of the pie chart represents a percentage of the total location map views, with larger slices indicating Enriched POIs that were more frequently sought out by visitors.

  • Example: If Enriched POI A accounts for 45% of the location views, it will have the largest slice of the pie, indicating it was the most sought-after Enriched POI on the map. Enriched POI B, with 25%, will have a smaller slice, while other Enriched POIs with fewer map views will be represented by even smaller portions. This breakdown provides a clear visual representation of visitor interest in locating specific Enriched POIs.

  • How It’s Useful: This metric allows operators to see which Enriched POIs are most often sought out by visitors on the map, providing insights into high-traffic areas or Enriched POIs that may be challenging to find. Operators can utilize this information to better understand visitor navigation patterns and adjust Enriched POI placement, signage, or promotional materials accordingly. If certain Enriched POIs consistently receive more map views, it may indicate that visitors prioritize locating them during their visit, offering valuable data to inform future content strategies or layout designs.
