How to Bulk Edit Objects

Efficiently manage statuses and tags for multiple Objects at once within your Venue.

Written by Collin Gall

Overview

This guide covers how to use bulk actions to update the publishing status and tags for one page of Objects (up to 50 items) simultaneously.

Why Use Bulk Actions?

  • Efficiency at Scale: Dramatically reduces the "clicks-per-Object" ratio for exhibitions with 20+ items.

  • Improved QA: Lower the risk of human error by ensuring entire categories of Objects are tagged or published consistently.

  • Workflow Organization: Use internal-only tags to track Objects through various stages of your curation process without them being visible to the visitor. For example, you can select multiple Objects and add a "Needs Review" tag; once you Public Release these changes, you can open that specific tag filter and share the URL with your team for auditing.

Bulk Editing Objects

  1. Navigate to Objects in the Console.

  2. Select the checkboxes on the left side of the Objects table to select the items you wish to edit.

    1. Note that bulk actions apply to the current page only; you can select up to 50 Objects at a time from a single page.

  3. Select Manage Status to update the publishing state for all selected Objects.

  4. Select the desired status from the options provided to sync your changes.

  5. Select Manage Tags to apply or remove tags across your selection.

  6. Select the field to add visitor-facing themes or internal workflow tags (such as "Needs Review").

  7. Select the confirmation button to apply the tags to your selected Objects.

  8. Once you're happy with your changes, select Save.

Confirm Your Changes

After you've created or edited your Venue, complete the Public Release process to make the content visible to visitors.

  1. Publish your Venue (select Publish) in the Console to make it ready to release.

  2. Public Release from the Releases page in the Console.
