Overview

Digital Labels are delivered as a browser-based Progressive Web App. Designed to look great and work responsively across various screen sizes and device types. This guide walks you through the technical requirements and shares best practices to ensure your display hardware is set up perfectly to showcase your content.

Device Compatibility and Appearance

  1. Compatibility: Digital Labels are compatible with most modern tablets, touchscreens, and mid-sized display screens. They support both portrait and landscape orientation.

  2. Appearance: The Digital Label respects the system appearance settings of the device: Devices in dark mode will display the label with a dark theme, and devices in light mode will show the label in a light theme.

  3. Resolution Note: Currently, Digital Labels support a maximum screen width of 1366px.

  4. Browser Limitations: If you plan to use devices with known browser limitations (such as BrightSign), contact your Pladia Customer Success team to discuss compatibility.

Enable Kiosk Mode for Uninterrupted Display

To ensure your Digital Label remains active and uninterrupted, you should enable Kiosk Mode (also called Single App Mode) on your display device. This locks the screen to the browser or PWA.

  1. On iPads: Use Guided Access.

  2. On Android tablets: Use Screen Pinning or App Pinning.

  3. On dedicated signage hardware: Refer to the device’s documentation.

Recommendation: This setup is strongly recommended for unattended or high-traffic locations.

You're all set! Contact Customer Success if you have any further questions.
