Overview

The Digital Label experience, powered by Extend, transforms how visitors interact with your collection through high-fidelity digital displays. Because Extend shares the same content model as Empower, you only have to create your content once to publish it across both mobile and fixed displays.

Feature Benefits

  • Responsive & Accessible: The layout adapts to portrait or landscape orientations. For accessibility, a QR handoff allows visitors to use their personal device's accessibility settings (like screen readers).

  • Brand Customization: Maintain your visual identity with light/dark mode, feature color, and logo options.

  • Multilingual Support: Matches Empower’s language capabilities for a consistent global visitor experience.

How it Works

Location-Aware Content Delivery

Digital Labels use Pladia’s structured, space-based model to determine what each screen displays. Every screen is linked to a specific Space configured in the Console. Because the content is tied to the visitor's physical location, the experience feels immediate and relevant. Whether they are standing in a grand hall or a small gallery, the Digital Label provides an instant deep dive into the specific items they are viewing, creating a focused and intuitive journey through the exhibition.

The Attract Loop

To ensure your displays capture visitor attention while not in use, Extend features an Attract Loop. When a device is initially loaded or has been idle for three minutes, the screen cycles through it's associated Object images in an animated, randomized sequence. Visitors simply tap the screen to activate the interface and begin exploring.

Integrated Button & Link Logic

The system intelligently handles how content is opened based on the destination:

  • Internal Links: When an Empower object link is configured for a button, the object details page opens directly on the Extend device.

  • External Links: External URLs will prompt the visitor to scan a QR code to open the content on their own mobile device.

Managing Audio with Noisy Mode

If your gallery environment is prone to sound bleed or is a strictly quiet zone, you can disable Noisy Mode. This disables audio and video playback on the specific Extend device. When active, visitors are prompted to scan a QR code to listen to the audio through their own device via Empower.
