Event Sync: Recommended Mobile Devices & Browsers

For optimal performance, share this recommendation with your listeners.

Recommended Devices and Browsers

For the optimal Event Sync experience, we recommend using recent mobile devices running native, updated web browsers, on a reliable Wi-Fi or local network.

  • iOS Devices: Recent iPhone models running the latest version of Safari.

  • Android Devices: Recent Android smartphones running the latest version of Chrome.

These specific recommendation profiles stem from extensive field testing. Modern mobile operating systems allocate performance optimization and background processing priorities differently to third-party software; using Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android provides the lowest audio playback latency and the most stable local network synchronization.

Factors Affecting Mobile Performance

While Event Sync supports a wide range of devices, operating system settings and hardware limitations can affect performance. To ensure seamless playback and prevent audio drift, consider the following factors:

  • Low Battery & Power Saving Modes: Devices with degraded battery health or active Power Saver modes impact browser performance to conserve energy. This can lead to dropped audio frames or a complete loss of synchronization.

  • Limited Device Storage: When internal storage is nearly full, the operating system limits background processes and media caching, which can disrupt synchronized audio streams.

  • Bluetooth Device Processing: Connected Bluetooth headphones or speakers introduce wireless latency and vary significantly in hardware performance, which can affect precise timing.

  • Background Audio/Video Applications: Opening apps that play media such as social media platforms, streaming apps, or games, forces the system to deprioritize Event Sync audio playback. This can also occur if opening your camera to take a photo or video. Once the listener returns to the WoW web app, if they have lost sync, they will be prompted to to resync.

  • Excessive Browser Tabs: Running multiple active browser tabs consumes system memory, reducing the browser's ability to maintain real-time sync.
