Adding Attributions to Objects

Give visitors the context behind your content, and a natural way to keep exploring.

Written by Anna Nicholson

Overview

Attributions are now a navigable content type in Empower, with rich metadata, linked content, and the flexibility to represent almost anything with a story to tell. Whether that's an artist, a speaker, a cultural group, or a supporting partner, visitors can now click through to a dedicated page and discover everything connected to it.

Create a New Attribution

  1. Navigate to Attributions.

  2. Select Create Attribution.

  3. Enter the relevant Basic Information for your Attribution, including Attribution Name, Subtitle, Dates, and External ID.

  4. Click the 'Display Page' checkbox if you would like the page visible for visitors to the Empower PWA. It will appear in search results and can be navigated to from linked pages.
If this box is not checked, the Attribution will still be listed on the Object, but will not have a navigable page in the PWA.

  5. Select the plus sign (+) to add a Hero Image.

  6. Optional: To add Audio, click the dropdown under the 'Audio' prompt, then select the specific track you would like to add.

  7. Optional: Add relevant Properties from the list available, including Dates, Born, Died, Nationality, Habitat, etc.

  8. Once you're happy with your changes, select Save.

Add an Attribution to an Object

  1. Navigate to Objects.

  2. Select the relevant Object.

  3. Under the Details tab, scroll down to Attributions section and select 'Add Attribution'. You can add multiple Attributions to one Object.

  4. Click 'Save' at the bottom righthand side of the Console. Repeat for all desired Attributions.

Tip: You can view a list of all associated Objects under the AttributionAppearances tab.

Delete an Attribution

Deleting an unwanted Attribution will remove the record from the Console. It will also remove any attachment it has to your Objects in the Empower PWA.

  1. Navigate to Attributions from the left navigation in the Console, and click the context menu (three dots) next to an item.

  2. Select Delete to remove it from the Console.

  3. You can also use the context menu from the creator detail page to select Delete.

Confirm Your Changes

After you've added or edited your Attributions, complete the release process to make the content visible to visitors. Attributions are automatically ready to be included in the public release as soon as you save them.

  1. Release to Public from the Releases page in the Console.

  2. If you delete an Attribution, any linked Objects will appear on the Releases page, letting you know the associated content must be released before the change is visible in the PWA.
